About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer to work as an Access Desk Attendant at a food and beverage distribution location in Suffolk, Virginia. The role helps maintain a welcoming and controlled environment by monitoring entry points, verifying credentials, managing badges, documenting visitor activity, and remaining visible to deter security-related incidents. The attendant provides customer service and communicates clearly with clients, visitors, drivers, employees, and contractors. The listed pay rate is $15.60 per hour. The schedule is Saturdays and Sundays from 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM.

Requirements

At least 1 year of security-related experience.
At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
State and/or local licensing requirements may apply and may be required before employment.
A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and employees while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Monitor access control points, verify credentials and visitor authorizations, maintain entry records, and direct authorized personnel, deliveries, and contractors according to site requirements.
Observe and report unusual activity, access violations, and security-related concerns, escalating incidents to appropriate site contacts or emergency responders.
Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, following established post orders and reporting requirements.
Conduct regular and random patrols of entrances, loading areas, employee parking areas, and the facility perimeter to deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.
