About The Position

Coastal Security Services, Inc. (CSSI) is hiring full-time and part-time Security Officers in Bluffton, South Carolina. Officers are assigned to client sites in and around Bluffton based on their availability and experience. The role includes access control, patrols, incident response, de-escalation, reporting, and representing CSSI and its clients professionally.

Shifts include days, evenings, and overnights, and weekend availability is required. Pay starts at $18.00 per hour, with higher rates at select sites. Overtime is paid at 1.5 times the regular rate for hours over 40 in a work week.

CSSI offers no-cost training through its Training Academy and opportunities to advance into site supervisor, field coordinator, and district leadership roles. CSSI is a locally led security company founded in 2006 and headquartered in Bluffton, South Carolina.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Be available to work weekends.
• Be able to obtain SC SLED Unarmed Security Officer Registration under CSSI.
• Pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
• Have a high school diploma or GED.
• Have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Be able to stand, walk, and patrol for a full shift.
• Have clear verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Current or prior SC Security Officer Registration.
• Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification.
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Control access at gates, lobbies, and entry points; verify credentials and manage visitors.
• Conduct foot and vehicle patrols of buildings, grounds, and parking areas.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and medical emergencies.
• De-escalate disruptive situations and coordinate with site staff and local law enforcement.
• Write accurate daily activity reports and incident reports using the mobile reporting system.
• Maintain a professional appearance and attitude while representing the client and CSSI on every shift.
