About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time, unarmed Security Officer for a healthcare location in Durham, North Carolina. The officer conducts patrols, maintains a visible security presence, and helps provide a welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. The role involves customer service, professional communication, and using computer or tablet technology as needed. The position pays $20.46 per hour and has a stated schedule of Monday 1:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m., Tuesday 3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m., and Friday 3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m. Applicants must be at least 21 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent. Employment is conditional on a background investigation and, where permitted by law, a drug screen. Licensing may be required under applicable state or local regulations. A valid driver’s license is required only for driving positions. Customer service experience and comfort using a computer or tablet are preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors by following security procedures and site-specific policies, and support emergency response activities when appropriate.
Respond calmly to incidents, medical emergencies, and other critical situations, following site protocols and communicating with appropriate personnel.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of hospital buildings, patient care areas, parking facilities, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
Monitor access points and visitor activity, direct individuals to appropriate departments, and help maintain orderly movement throughout the location.
Accurately and promptly document incidents, observations, and patrol activities, escalating security concerns to site leadership or emergency responders as appropriate.
