About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time unarmed Security Officer to support a government mental health location in Charleston, South Carolina. The role primarily involves driving between assigned areas and conducting patrols to maintain a visible presence and help deter security-related incidents. The officer provides customer service, communicates professionally, and helps support a welcoming environment. The posted schedule is Friday and Saturday, 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Pay is $22.00 per hour.

Requirements

At least 2 years of security-related experience.
Valid driver’s license in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements; a valid license is required for driving positions.
At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing may be required before employment, subject to state and local laws and regulations.

Nice To Haves

CPR and First Aid certification.
Comfort using a computer or tablet.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and individuals receiving services while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
Respond calmly and respectfully to incidents, behavioral health-related concerns, and critical situations, following established protocols and requesting additional assistance when needed.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facilities, grounds, entry points, parking areas, and perimeter areas to identify and report unusual activity or potential hazards.
Monitor access points, observe visitor activity, and document incidents, observations, and security-related concerns in accordance with site procedures.
Maintain a professional presence in a government healthcare environment, communicate respectfully with diverse individuals, and support a welcoming atmosphere.
