About The Position

As a Security Officer Full Time Patrol Duty in La Crescenta, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer at an education location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, support a welcoming atmosphere for students, staff, and visitors, and help to discourage security-related incidents through a visible presence. You will conduct routine patrols, respond to site needs, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication while reflecting Allied Universal’s values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
• Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an educational location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and document observations and/or activities according to site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of campus grounds, parking areas, walkways, entrances, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and help to verify authorized entry of students, staff, visitors, and/or contractors in accordance with location policies and school schedules.
• Support school operations by reporting maintenance concerns, policy violations, and/or suspicious activity to appropriate personnel while maintaining a professional presence throughout the location.
