About The Position

The Security Officer maintains the overall security of an assigned facility by enforcing access control, observing and correcting violations, and reporting violations of applicable rules and regulations. The officer is expected to support and integrate Sizemore’s core values of Flexibility, Improvement, Reliability, Safety, and Teamwork into daily responsibilities.

The role is based in Macon, Georgia, pays $11 per hour, and is scheduled Monday through Wednesday from 8:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. A vehicle is required. Work takes place in a climate-controlled building and/or outdoors in various weather conditions. The position requires extensive walking, standing, and sitting and may involve threatening situations or exposure to bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids. Employees must be able to lift 50 pounds and comply with the stated uniform and grooming requirements.

Continued employment depends on passing a criminal background check, a clean motor vehicle record check if driving, employment verification, and pre-employment and random employment drug screens. Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school graduate or recipient of a GED.
• Must have a vehicle.
• Demonstrate service and professionalism through appropriate conduct and demeanor.
• Exercise patience, tact, enthusiasm, and diplomacy when dealing with people.
• Use initiative and sound judgment to evaluate and react to situations.
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure in potentially stressful, time-sensitive situations.
• Good problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail, including the ability to prioritize.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, read and comprehend detailed instructions, and process information accurately and clearly.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Must pass a criminal background check, a clean MVR check if driving, and employment verification.
• Must pass pre-employment and random employment drug screens.
• Tattoos must not be visible when wearing the prescribed uniform; tattoos on the head, face, neck, or hands are not allowed.
• Facial piercings must be removed while on duty.
• Facial hair must be clean-shaven except for a mustache; hair must be clean, neatly trimmed, and a natural color.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in security, military, or law enforcement is preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office programs is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for customers and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel.
• Document security activity in a Daily Activity Report (DAR) and complete incident reports as required.
• Control vehicle and personnel access according to established procedures.
• Respond to emergency situations according to established procedures.
• Operate specialized equipment as needed, including Closed-Circuit Television Systems, vehicle scales, and computer systems.
• Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities and informing violators of policies and procedures.
• Identify projects to improve effectiveness and efficiency and support a culture of constant improvement.
• Enforce Sizemore’s and the client’s policies and procedures.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
