About The Position

The Security Officer maintains the overall security of the assigned facility by enforcing access control, observing and correcting violations, and reporting violations of applicable rules and regulations. The role supports Sizemore’s core values of Flexibility, Improvement, Reliability, Safety, and Teamwork in daily responsibilities. The schedule is Monday through Wednesday, 8:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. Pay is $11 per hour. A vehicle is required. Work takes place in a climate-controlled building and/or outdoors in varying weather conditions. The role involves extensive walking, standing, and sitting, and may involve encounters with threatening situations, bloodborne pathogens, and bodily fluids. The officer must be able to lift 50 pounds. The prescribed uniform must conceal tattoos; tattoos on the head, face, neck, or hands are not allowed. Facial piercings must be removed while on duty. Facial hair must be clean-shaven except for a mustache, and hair must be clean, neatly trimmed, and a natural color. Continued employment is contingent on passing a criminal background check, a clean MVR check if driving, employment verification, and pre-employment and random employment drug screens.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
High school graduate or GED recipient.
Must have a vehicle.
Demonstrate service and professionalism through appropriate conduct and demeanor.
Show patience, tact, enthusiasm, and diplomacy when dealing with people.
Use initiative and sound judgment when evaluating and reacting to situations.
Ability to multitask and work under pressure in potentially stressful and time-sensitive situations.
Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail, including the ability to prioritize.
Ability to work with minimum supervision, read and comprehend detailed instructions, and process information accurately and clearly.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Pass a criminal background check, a clean MVR check if driving, employment verification, and pre-employment and random employment drug screens.
Comply with the stated uniform and grooming requirements.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in security, military, or law enforcement is preferred.
Proficiency with MS Office programs is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Maintain a safe and secure environment for customers and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel.
Document security activity in a Daily Activity Report (DAR) and complete incident reports as required.
Control vehicle and personnel access according to established procedures.
Respond to emergency situations according to established procedures.
Operate specialized equipment as needed, including closed-circuit television systems, vehicle scales, and computer systems.
Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities and informing violators of policies and procedures.
Identify projects that can improve effectiveness and efficiency and support a culture of continuous improvement.
Enforce Sizemore’s and the client’s policies and procedures.
Perform other tasks as assigned.
