About The Position

The Security Officer maintains the overall security of the assigned facility by enforcing access control and observing, correcting, and reporting violations of applicable rules and regulations. The officer is expected to incorporate Sizemore’s core values of Flexibility, Improvement, Reliability, Safety, and Teamwork into daily work. The role pays $13.00 per hour and has a weekend schedule of Saturday and Sunday, 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Work takes place in a climate-controlled building and/or outdoors in varying weather conditions. The position involves extensive walking, standing, and sitting, and may involve threatening situations or exposure to bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids. The officer must be able to lift 50 pounds. Uniform and grooming standards require tattoos to be covered, prohibit tattoos on the head, face, neck, or hands, require removal of facial piercings while on duty, and require a clean-shaven face except for a mustache and clean, neatly trimmed, naturally colored hair. Continued employment depends on passing a criminal background check, a clean motor vehicle record check if driving, employment verification, and pre-employment and random employment drug screens. Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age.
Be a high school graduate or hold a GED.
Demonstrate service and professionalism through appropriate conduct and demeanor.
Show patience, tact, enthusiasm, and diplomacy when dealing with people.
Use initiative and sound judgment when evaluating and responding to situations.
Be able to multitask and work under pressure in potentially stressful, time-sensitive situations.
Have problem-solving skills and attention to detail, including the ability to prioritize.
Be able to work with minimal supervision, read and comprehend detailed instructions, and process information accurately and clearly.
Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Be able to lift 50 pounds.
Pass a criminal background check, employment verification, pre-employment and random employment drug screens, and a clean MVR check if driving.
Comply with the stated uniform, tattoo, piercing, facial hair, and hair standards.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in security, the military, or law enforcement.
Proficiency with MS Office programs; preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Maintain a safe and secure environment for customers and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel.
Document security activity in a Daily Activity Report and complete incident reports as required.
Control vehicle and personnel access according to established procedures.
Respond to emergency situations according to established procedures.
Operate specialized equipment as needed, including closed-circuit television systems, vehicle scales, and computer systems.
Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities and informing violators of policies and procedures.
Identify projects to improve effectiveness and efficiency and support a culture of constant improvement.
Enforce Sizemore’s and the client’s policies and procedures.
Perform other tasks as assigned.
