About The Position

The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining the overall security of the assigned facility by enforcing access control, observing, correcting, and reporting violations of applicable rules and regulations. The role supports and integrates Sizemore’s core values of Flexibility, Improvement, Reliability, Safety, and Teamwork into daily responsibilities. The position pays $15.00 per hour and is scheduled Monday through Friday, 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Work takes place in a climate-controlled building and/or outdoors in various weather conditions. The role requires extensive walking, standing, and sitting, and may involve threatening situations and exposure to bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids. The Security Officer must be able to lift 50 pounds. Continued employment depends on passing a criminal background check, a clean motor vehicle record check if driving, employment verification, and pre-employment and random employment drug screens. Uniform and grooming standards apply: tattoos must not be visible in the prescribed uniform, tattoos on the head, face, neck, or hands are not allowed, facial piercings must be removed while on duty, facial hair must be clean-shaven except for a mustache, and hair must be clean, neatly trimmed, and a natural color.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
High school graduate or recipient of a GED.
Demonstrate commitment to service and professionalism through appropriate conduct and demeanor.
Show patience, tact, enthusiasm, and diplomacy when dealing with people in any circumstances.
Use initiative and sound judgment when evaluating and reacting to situations.
Ability to multitask and work under pressure in potentially stressful and time-sensitive situations.
Good problem-solving skills and high attention to detail, including the ability to prioritize.
Ability to work with minimum supervision, read and comprehend detailed instructions, and process information accurately and clearly.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Ability to pass a criminal background check, employment verification, and pre-employment and random employment drug screens; a clean MVR check is required if driving.
Comply with the stated uniform and grooming standards.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in security, military, or law enforcement.
Proficiency with MS Office programs.

Responsibilities

Maintain a safe and secure environment for customers and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel.
Document security activity in a Daily Activity Report (DAR) and complete incident reports as required.
Control vehicle and personnel access according to established procedures.
Respond to emergency situations according to established procedures.
Operate specialized equipment as needed, including closed-circuit television systems, vehicle scales, and computer systems.
Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities and informing violators of policies and procedures.
Identify projects to increase effectiveness and efficiency and contribute to a culture of constant improvement.
Enforce Sizemore’s and the client’s policies and procedures.
Perform other tasks as required.
