About The Position

Delaware North Gaming is hiring a part-time Security Officer at Finger Lakes Gaming in Farmington, New York. The Officer helps maintain a safe and secure environment for guests and team members. The overnight schedule is Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, from 11:45 PM to 8:00 AM.

Finger Lakes Gaming & Racetrack features more than 1,500 video gaming machines, live thoroughbred racing from April to November, year-round simulcast wagering on thoroughbred and harness racing, and several dining options, including a large buffet.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must possess a New York State Security Guard license.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, pass an MVR check, and take a drug test.
• Must be able to be licensed by the New York State Gaming Commission.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
• Ability to communicate via two-way radio.
• Ability to stand, reach, and bend frequently.
• Manual dexterity sufficient to grasp and handle guest items and various equipment.
• Vision sufficient to perform duties without restriction, day or night.
• Must be able to push, pull, and lift 35 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Law enforcement or related experience is a plus.
• A gaming background is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests positively and promptly, treating each person as an individual and professionally.
• Conduct cash escorts as required.
• Handle customer complaints skillfully using active listening.
• Observe, handle, and report procedural violations and illegal activity.
• Check identification to ensure proper admittance to the gaming floor.
• Maintain crowd control as required.
• Maintain a secure presence on the gaming floor.
• Patrol the parking lot and ancillary buildings as assigned.
• Operate a motorized vehicle when necessary.
