Security Officer Part Time Patrol
About The Position
As a part-time Unarmed Patrol Security Officer at a retail location in Jacksonville, Florida, you will help safeguard clients and provide customer service to shoppers, store associates, visitors, and team members. The role involves routine foot or vehicle patrols, maintaining a visible presence, supporting access control and store procedures, and documenting and reporting observations. You will respond calmly to incidents and concerns, escalating situations according to site procedures. The scheduled shifts are Friday and Saturday from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and Sunday from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Pay is $16.50 per hour.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of security-related experience.
- At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
- Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements; licensing may be required before employment.
- A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients, shoppers, and store associates by following security procedures and site-specific policies and participating in emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations calmly, escalating matters according to site procedures.
- Conduct regular and random foot or vehicle patrols throughout sales areas, entrances, exits, loading areas, parking lots, and the perimeter.
- Monitor for unusual activity, potential theft-related concerns, hazards, and policy violations, and report observations to store personnel and Allied Universal leadership.
- Assist with access control and opening and closing procedures.
- Maintain clear, professional communication with store personnel, visitors, and responding public service agencies.
- Use communication and technology skills to document observations and assist visitors, customers, and team members.
