About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Security Officer for truck gate access at a logistics and distribution location in Long Beach, California. The officer will help maintain a secure environment by monitoring entry points, verifying credentials, managing visitor access, documenting security activity, and providing customer service while remaining visible to deter incidents and support daily operations. The role pays $19.00 per hour. The posted schedule is Monday and Sunday, 10:00 PM–6:00 AM, and Friday and Saturday, 2:00 PM–10:00 PM.

Applicants must have at least one year of security-related experience and a high school diploma or equivalent. Applicants must be at least 18 for unarmed roles or 21 or older for armed roles. Employment is subject to a background investigation and, to the extent permitted by law, a drug screen. Licensing may be required under applicable state or local rules. A valid driver’s license is required only for driving positions.

Requirements

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, drivers, visitors, and vendors while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor and control access by verifying credentials, documenting visitor and driver arrivals, and directing authorized individuals according to site procedures.
• Maintain accurate access-control records, including visitor logs, vehicle information, and delivery-related documentation.
• Respond calmly to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations, notifying appropriate personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of designated areas, entrances, loading zones, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
