About The Position

As an Unarmed Security Officer supporting a utilities location in Fairfax, Virginia, you will help safeguard employees, visitors, and operations by monitoring and patrolling assigned areas. The role includes routine patrols, maintaining a visible presence to deter incidents, managing access, and providing customer service and communication. This is primarily a driving post. The position is full-time and pays $18.22 per hour. The scheduled hours are Monday through Friday, 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements may apply under state or local laws and regulations and may be required before employment.
A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions.

Responsibilities

Carry out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities at a utility operations location while providing customer service.
Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations, following established site procedures.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of utility facilities, buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas, identifying and reporting unusual conditions.
Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorized entry in accordance with site policies, and maintain accurate activity and incident documentation.
Communicate observed hazards, infrastructure concerns, and security-related issues to appropriate site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
