Security Officer Part Time - Experience Needed
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a part-time, unarmed Security Officer at a retail location in Chicago, Illinois. The officer will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide customer service to shoppers, tenants, visitors, and employees. The role includes communicating professionally, reporting observations, and supporting a welcoming environment while representing Allied Universal’s values. The position pays $18.50 per hour. The listed schedule is Thursday and Sunday, 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Officers can use Allied Universal’s Claim a Shift platform to view and claim additional shifts. Requirements
- At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements may apply under state or local laws and regulations and may be required before employment.
Nice To Haves
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet.

- Ability to lift more than 20 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to tenants, shoppers, visitors, and employees while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail property, including common areas, parking areas, building exteriors, and perimeter locations.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations calmly and professionally, contacting appropriate personnel and emergency responders when needed.
- Observe and report unusual activity, property conditions, and policy violations to help deter unauthorized access, theft, and disruptive behavior.
- Complete required patrol logs, incident reports, and daily activity documentation in accordance with site procedures.
