About The Position

Associa is seeking a Security Officer to maintain the overall security of a property. The officer uses preventive measures to deter theft, vandalism, property damage, violence, and safety violations. Duties may include vehicle patrols, monitoring property entry and exit, signing visitors in and out, monitoring deliveries, assisting guests with information and directions, enforcing parking rules, and responding to emergencies. The officer must remain alert to risks and concerns and may communicate with emergency personnel or address physical threats by restraining offenders. The role is part-time, with a variable schedule of fewer than 40 hours. Overtime may be required, including on-call work, weekends, and 24-hour emergency response. The position works in a non-typical office environment, with frequent standing, walking, and talking, and activities both indoors and outdoors. The stated hourly rate is $19.00–$20.00; direct experience is highly considered. Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
0–3 years of directly related or closely related experience.
Guard Card required.
Knowledge of state or local governmental safety requirements.
Proficient knowledge of conflict-resolution techniques.
Professional customer service skills.
Self-motivated, proactive, detail-oriented, and a team player.
Ability to interpret and complete verbal and/or written instructions proficiently.
Time-management and time-critical prioritization skills.

Responsibilities

Respond to alarms and emergency situations.
Make periodic tours to check for irregularities and inspect protection devices and fire control equipment.
Greet incoming guests and tenants and provide information about the site and surrounding area as requested.
Guard and monitor premises to prevent theft, property destruction, violence, or rule and safety violations.
Perform fire prevention, safety, maintenance, parking, and traffic-enforcement tasks.
Other duties as assigned.
Maintain records of who enters or leaves the property, sign visitors in and out, and monitor incoming deliveries as applicable.
Assist guests with information and directions.
Communicate with emergency personnel and potentially handle physical threats by restraining offenders.
Maintain parking regulations and ensure parking lot security.
