About The Position

As a full-time Security Officer performing X-ray screening in a government court setting in Wailuku, Hawaii, you will help maintain a welcoming and orderly environment. You will screen visitors and their belongings, monitor access points, respond to security-related concerns, and support court operations through customer service and clear communication. The role serves court visitors, judicial staff, attorneys, and other personnel.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles. The posting lists 21+ years of age as a pre-employment requirement for this position.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required before employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to court visitors, judicial staff, attorneys, and other personnel while carrying out site-specific screening procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
• Operate screening equipment and conduct entry screening according to established procedures; direct visitors regarding prohibited items and access requirements.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, and promptly communicate concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Monitor access points and visitor flow, remain aware of activity in assigned screening areas, and help deter unauthorized entry.
• Complete required logs, incident reports, and other documentation accurately and in accordance with post orders.
