About The Position

As a Security Officer X Ray Screening Support in an educational setting in Lexington, Kentucky, you will help maintain a secure campus environment by operating screening equipment, monitoring access points, and identifying potential security-related concerns. You will provide customer service to students, staff, and visitors while supporting a welcoming campus experience. This is a part-time position scheduled Monday, Tuesday, and Friday from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The pay rate is $19.00 per hour.

Requirements

At least 1 year of security-related experience.
At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required before employment.
A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Ability to lift more than 20 pounds.
Comfort using a computer or tablet.
Customer service experience.
X-ray screening experience.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and vendors while carrying out site-specific security procedures and emergency response activities.
Screen individuals and authorized items entering designated campus locations according to established procedures.
Verify identification, access credentials, and visitor authorization, and report discrepancies or prohibited items to appropriate personnel.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned entrances, surrounding areas, and perimeter locations as directed.
