About The Position

The Armed Security Officer protects Choctaw Nation property, provides lifesaving aid when needed, responds professionally to dynamic, high-stress situations, and ensures applicable policies and procedures are followed. The position includes regular patrols of internal and external properties, responding to emergencies, documenting security incidents, and maintaining confidentiality. The role pays $18.00 per hour, increasing to $19.78 per hour after completing Security New Hire Training and passing the MMPI. Weekly Earned Wage Access is available as an option. The schedule is Saturday through Tuesday, 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., with Wednesday through Friday off.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
At least 21 years of age.
Receive “Capable” results from the department-issued MMPI.
Be physically and mentally fit to perform the essential functions of a Security Officer and pass a physical fitness test.
Possess a valid state driver’s license.
Qualify yearly with department firearms.
Be able to obtain and maintain an armed security license in Oklahoma and Arkansas.

Responsibilities

Access, retrieve, and log computerized data.
Investigate unusual, suspicious, or potentially dangerous situations.
Assist with emergencies, including active shooter incidents, medical emergencies, fires, and severe weather.
Conduct regular patrols of internal and external Choctaw Nation properties.
Follow Choctaw Nation regulations and procedures, maintain security according to rules, and protect confidential information.
Operate department vehicles in accordance with state and local laws.
As needed, operate emergency equipment and short-wave radios, and administer CPR and first aid.
Write incident reports concerning security issues, accidents, theft, or vandalism and submit them to the Security Supervisor.
Refer dangerous situations or complex problems to a supervisor.
Perform other duties as assigned.
