About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time, unarmed Security Officer to serve and safeguard a cultural institution in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The role involves conducting routine patrols, maintaining a visible security presence, assisting guests, communicating clearly, responding to site needs, and helping support a welcoming environment through teamwork and integrity. The position is scheduled Thursday through Saturday, 9:30 AM to 5:15 PM, at a rate of $16.25 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation, as a condition of employment and in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen, as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet any licensing requirements that apply under state or local laws and regulations, which may be required before employment.
Have a valid driver's license only if applying for a driving position.

Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to visitors, staff, volunteers, and vendors while carrying out site-specific security procedures, museum policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of galleries, public spaces, entrances, exits, loading areas, and the surrounding perimeter to identify and report unusual activity or facility concerns.
Monitor access points and visitor flow, verify authorization as directed, and assist with orderly entry and exit procedures.
Respond to incidents, visitor concerns, and critical situations calmly and professionally, following established reporting and escalation protocols.
Accurately document incidents, observations, and patrol activities, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.
