About The Position

Delaware North Gaming is hiring a part-time Security Officer to join our team at Finger Lakes Gaming and Racetrack in Farmington, New York. As a Security Guard, you will work under the direction of the Security Manager to maintain a safe and secure environment for guests and team members, in accordance with the New York Gaming Commission and applicable operational standards. This role offers fast-paced work in a collaborative environment with endless opportunities.

Requirements

Must be a state-certified security guard and be able to be licensed by the State Gaming Commission.
High School Diploma or GED
Must have a valid driver’s license, pass an MVR check, and take a drug test.
Ability to demonstrate skill in dealing with guest complaints, using active listening skills to control difficult situations and maintain guest goodwill.
Highly motivated and takes initiative.
Team-oriented; ability to work effectively with others.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, stooping, lifting, reaching, and pushing; occasional sitting.
Visual acuity sufficient to identify potential security violations.
Hearing ability sufficient to respond to the spoken voice, audible alarms, and two-way radios.
Manual dexterity sufficient to handle guest items and various equipment.
Occasionally required to lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
Exposure to all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

Enforce rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of the unit, company, and local gaming commission.
Operate a motorized vehicle when necessary.
Enforce all departmental and organizational policies and procedures and report incidents.
Observe and report procedural violations and illegal activity.
Complete forms and paperwork by the end of each shift.
Demonstrate skill in dealing with guest complaints, using active listening skills to control difficult situations and maintain guest goodwill.
