Security Officer - Industrial Site
About The Position
Securitas USA is seeking dependable and professional Security Officers to provide security services at an industrial facility in Tyler, Texas. Officers help maintain a safe and secure environment through foot and golf cart patrols, access control, observation, reporting, and enforcement of site-specific policies and procedures. The role requires strong observation and attention to detail, professional customer service, and the ability to work independently. The work takes place at an industrial manufacturing and distribution facility, with responsibilities both indoors and outdoors. Officers may encounter moving equipment, operational machinery, noise, and varying temperatures. Day, evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required. Starting pay is $14.50 per hour.
Requirements
- Valid Texas Security Officer License, or ability to obtain one before hire.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
- Basic computer and report-writing skills.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and conduct frequent foot patrols.
- Ability to operate a golf cart safely during patrols.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and humidity.
- Ability to occasionally bend, kneel, climb stairs, and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to remain alert and attentive throughout assigned shifts.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous security, military, law enforcement, or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine foot patrols throughout the facility, warehouse areas, parking lots, and perimeter.
- Perform golf cart patrols to monitor large property areas and identify security concerns.
- Monitor and report suspicious activity, safety hazards, security breaches, and unauthorized personnel.
- Control facility access and verify employee, visitor, and contractor credentials as required.
- Complete detailed incident, accident, and daily activity reports.
- Respond to alarms, emergencies, and other incidents according to site procedures.
- Maintain a visible security presence to help deter theft, vandalism, and other unwanted activity.
- Provide professional customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors.
- Enforce company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with site management, emergency responders, and fellow security personnel.
