About The Position

The Industrial Security Officer helps maintain a safe and secure environment for clients by actively monitoring premises, controlling access, and patrolling locations. The officer preserves order by enforcing regulations and directives relating to personnel, visitors, and the site. The role includes resolving conflicts and de-escalating situations; interacting with client employees and guests; identifying and reporting safety issues, hazardous conditions, and suspicious activity; following post orders and completing assigned rounds; and providing customer service and information. Officers use technology devices throughout their shifts and conduct heavy foot patrols in various weather conditions. They may also perform other tasks and duties of a similar nature and scope as required at the assigned site. This is a full-time, third-shift position in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, scheduled Thursday through Sunday in 12-hour shifts, with pay of $18.00 per hour.

Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older.
High school diploma or GED required.
Above-average computer and technology skills.
Excellent customer service and team leadership skills.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to remain calm and professional during stressful situations.
Strong attention to detail and ability to remain vigilant throughout the shift.
Professional demeanor.
Ability to respond to emergencies with rapid and effective judgment and appropriate escalation.
Willingness to participate in the pre-employment screening process, including a drug screen and background investigation.
Driver certification.
Comfort with heights and confined spaces.

Nice To Haves

Security, law enforcement, or military experience is a plus.
