About The Position
We are currently hiring a part-time Security Officer for a client site in Schenectady, NY. This role involves providing excellent customer service, conducting patrols, monitoring security systems, and responding appropriately to security concerns. The Security Officer position helps maintain a safe and secure environment for our clients by actively monitoring the premises, including patrolling a variety of locations. They preserve order while enforcing regulations and directives for a client site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and the area. Frequently our Security Officers will provide customer service and information to a client’s employees and customers. Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Comfortable using basic technology, including CCTV systems and reporting tools.
- Dependable, punctual, and professional.
- Ability to remain calm and respond appropriately during emergencies.
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
Nice To Haves
- Previous security experience is a plus, but not required. Training will be provided.
- If you have retail, food service or hospitality industry background you are a great fit for this role; if not, we will provide you with the training and everything you need for a great introduction to a career in the security industry.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular walking patrols to maintain a safe and secure environment.
- Monitor CCTV and other surveillance equipment.
- Complete clear and accurate daily activity logs and incident reports.
- Interact professionally with residents, visitors, and site staff.
- Follow established security procedures and contact emergency services when necessary.
- Observe and report unusual, suspicious, or unsafe activity.
- Respond to alarms, incidents, and emergency situations in a professional manner.
