About The Position

We are currently hiring a part-time Security Officer for a client site in Troy, NY. This role requires a calm, confident, and compassionate individual who can maintain a safe and respectful environment while responding appropriately to a variety of situations. Officers may encounter verbal disputes, substance use, medical emergencies, and other situations that require sound judgment and professionalism. The Security Officer position helps maintain a safe and secure environment for our clients by actively monitoring the premises, including patrolling a variety of locations. They preserve order while enforcing regulations and directives for a client site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and the area. Frequently our Security Officers will provide customer service and information to a client’s employees and customers. Requirements

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to de-escalate tense situations.
Professional demeanor and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Excellent observation skills and attention to detail.
Dependable, punctual, and capable of working independently.
Comfort using basic technology, including CCTV systems and reporting tools.
Ability to interact with residents, staff, and visitors with dignity, respect, and professionalism.

Nice To Haves

Experience with incident reporting preferred.
Previous security, crisis response, behavioral health, or related experience strongly preferred.
If you have retail, food service or hospitality industry background you are a great fit for this role; if not, we will provide you with the training and everything you need for a great introduction to a career in the security industry.

Responsibilities

Conduct regular walking patrols throughout the facility to maintain safety and security.
Monitor CCTV and other surveillance systems for unusual or suspicious activity.
Complete clear, detailed, and accurate daily activity logs and incident reports.
Remain alert and proactive in identifying and addressing potential safety concerns.
Respond appropriately to incidents, emergencies, and resident concerns.
Contact law enforcement, emergency medical services, or other first responders when necessary.
Work collaboratively with facility staff to promote a safe and respectful environment.
Observe, document, and report policy violations or unusual activity.
