About The Position

As a part-time armed patrol Security Officer supporting a government facility in Bloomington, Illinois, you will safeguard clients and provide customer service to visitors and personnel. You will conduct armed patrols, maintain a visible security presence, monitor access to restricted areas, and respond to security concerns in accordance with site procedures. The role requires professional communication, accurate reporting, and participation in industry-specific security training. The pay rate is $23.38 per hour. The listed schedule is Thursday and Friday, 12:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• An armed guard card or license is required.
• At least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements vary by state and/or local law and may be required before employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and personnel while following security procedures, site-specific policies, and applicable emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, access points, and perimeter areas; identify and report unusual conditions, unauthorized activity, and maintenance concerns.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials as required, and remain aware of visitor and employee activity under site procedures.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, following post orders and escalation protocols.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and activity logs documenting patrols, incidents, observations, and actions taken.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
