About The Position
As an Armed Security Officer supporting a financial institution in West Des Moines, Iowa, you will help safeguard clients and provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, respond to alarms and concerns, and communicate effectively. You will carry out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities while working as part of a team focused on integrity, reliability, innovation, and teamwork.
Requirements
- Possess a concealed carry weapons permit.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
- Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet applicable licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
Nice To Haves
- Ability to lift more than 20 pounds.
- Alarm panel experience.
- Customer service experience.
- A valid firearms permit.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
- Monitor access points, visitor activity, alarm systems, and surveillance equipment; verify credentials and report irregularities according to site procedures.
- Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, coordinating with site contacts and emergency responders as needed.
- Carry authorized equipment in accordance with applicable laws, licensing requirements, company policies, and site-specific procedures.
- Complete accurate incident and patrol documentation.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
