About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time, unarmed Security Officer to patrol a utilities location in Newport, Minnesota. The officer will help safeguard employees, visitors, contractors, and facilities by maintaining a visible presence, monitoring assigned areas, and supporting a welcoming environment. The role involves customer service, routine and random patrols, access monitoring, incident response, and timely reporting. The posted schedule is Saturday and Sunday, 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Pay is $26.71 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Undergo a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Undergo a drug screen as a condition of employment to the extent permitted by law.
Meet any licensing requirements that apply under state or local laws and regulations; a license may be required before employment.
A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel while following site-specific security procedures and policies at a recycling and energy operations location.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, grounds, access points, perimeter areas, parking areas, and operational zones; report unusual conditions, hazards, or unauthorized activity.
Monitor access by verifying visitor, contractor, and vehicle authorization in accordance with site procedures and maintaining required logs and documentation.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and critical situations; notify appropriate site contacts and emergency responders as directed by established procedures.
Prepare clear, timely incident reports and daily activity reports, and communicate relevant observations to Allied Universal leadership and site personnel.
