About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Unarmed Security Officer for perimeter patrol at a food and beverage retail location in Black Mountain, North Carolina. The officer will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. The role also involves providing customer service, communicating professionally with employees and visitors, and responding to situations with integrity and teamwork.

The position is part-time and pays $17.00 per hour. The listed schedule is Friday, 10:00 PM–6:00 AM, and Sunday, 2:00 PM–10:00 PM. Officers may use Allied Universal’s Claim a Shift platform to view and claim additional shifts.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
• Have a valid driver’s license if applying for a driving position.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to customers, employees, and visitors while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the store, parking areas, loading areas, and perimeter to identify unusual conditions and support a welcoming environment.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations, following site procedures and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Monitor access points and activity at the location, and report suspicious activity, policy violations, and maintenance concerns to site leadership.
• Assist with traffic flow, deliveries, and other operational needs as directed, while maintaining professional communication with customers and staff.
