About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Unarmed Security Officer to support a government location in Sparks, Nevada. The role involves serving and safeguarding clients through routine patrols, a visible security presence, response to security-related concerns, and customer service and communication. Officers work with site-specific policies and procedures, help deter incidents, and support the community as part of an agile, reliable, and innovative team.

The schedule is Monday, Tuesday, and Sunday from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The pay rate is $22.35 per hour.

Requirements

• At least six months of security-related experience.
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply under state and/or local laws and regulations, and may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

• Pepper spray certification.
• Handcuffing certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of government facilities, public-access areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations; identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, following site procedures and contacting appropriate personnel or emergency services as needed.
• Control access to designated areas by monitoring entrances, verifying authorization, and documenting visitor or contractor activity according to site requirements.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain required logs for incidents, patrols, observations, and other security-related activities.
