About The Position

As a part-time Security Officer in a luxury retail location in Short Hills, New Jersey, you will help safeguard clients by monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, maintaining a visible presence to help deter incidents, and providing customer service. You will communicate professionally with shoppers, employees, and visitors while supporting a welcoming environment. The role serves clients in industries such as retail and malls and requires responding calmly to incidents and critical situations. The posted schedule is Friday, 9:45 AM–6:45 PM, and Saturday, 11:00 AM–8:00 PM. The pay rate is $22.81 per hour. Employees can use Allied Universal’s Claim a Shift platform to view and claim additional shifts. The position also offers paid training and access to career growth opportunities.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements; licensing may be required before employment.
Have a valid driver’s license only if applying for a driving position.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and participate in emergency response activities when appropriate.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and its perimeter.
Maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents.
Communicate professionally with shoppers, employees, and visitors.
