About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer for access coordination at a logistics and distribution location in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The officer will help manage entry points, verify authorized access, and support a secure environment for employees, visitors, and operations. The role requires a visible presence, professional communication, and customer service while helping deter incidents. The position is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM, and pays $18.54 per hour. Requirements

Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
Have a valid driver’s license only if applying for a driving position.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, access-control protocols, and appropriate emergency response activities.
Monitor access points, verify credentials, manage visitor and contractor entry, and maintain accurate access records according to site procedures.
Respond calmly to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations, escalating matters according to established protocols.
Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, loading areas, business operations, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
Observe and report security-related conditions, suspicious activity, and policy violations to site leadership or appropriate personnel.
