About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time, unarmed patrol Security Officer to serve clients at a retail location in Roanoke, Virginia. The role involves routine foot and vehicle patrols, maintaining a visible security presence, responding professionally to concerns and incidents, and helping create a welcoming environment for shoppers and team members. This is a driving position and requires a valid driver’s license. The schedule is Wednesday through Sunday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The pay rate is $18.00 per hour. Applicants are subject to a background investigation and drug screen, as permitted by law. Licensing requirements may apply under state or local regulations.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license, required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy for driving positions.
At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by following security procedures and site-specific policies and, when appropriate, carrying out emergency response activities.
Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations calmly and professionally, following escalation procedures.
Conduct regular and random foot or vehicle patrols of the store, parking areas, loading zones, and perimeter.
Monitor entrances, exits, and high-traffic areas for suspicious activity, policy violations, and potential loss-prevention concerns; report observations as directed.
Complete incident reports, patrol logs, and other required documentation in accordance with company and site procedures.
