Security Officer Part Time Dispatch Operations
About The Position
As a part-time Security Officer in Dispatch Operations, you will support a technology, media, and telecommunications location in San Jose, California. You will coordinate security-related communications, monitor activity, and help direct response resources while providing customer service, maintaining clear records, and supporting a welcoming environment. The role is with Allied Universal and emphasizes teamwork, integrity, reliability, innovation, and a people-first culture. The schedule is Tuesday from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, Wednesday from 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM, and Thursday from 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM. The pay rate is $27.15 per hour.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of security-related experience.
- At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required before employment.
- A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors by following site-specific procedures and security-related policies.
- Monitor dispatch communications, receive and document service requests, and coordinate responses to routine, urgent, and emergency situations.
- Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, escalating information to site leadership and emergency services as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate dispatch logs, incident reports, and activity records in accordance with site procedures.
- Monitor access-control systems, alarms, cameras, and other communications platforms; report unusual activity and help deter unauthorized access.
