About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Security Officer for a shelter location in Covington, Ohio. The officer will help maintain a welcoming and secure environment by monitoring access points, verifying authorized entry, documenting activity, and responding to security-related concerns. The role requires a visible, professional presence, exceptional customer service, and clear communication while helping deter incidents. The position pays $17.00 per hour and is paid weekly. The listed schedule is Monday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, retirement savings, life and AD&D, and disability insurance. Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or at least 21 for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers while following site-specific security procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities.
Monitor and control access by verifying identification, maintaining visitor logs, issuing and collecting credentials, and directing authorized individuals to appropriate areas.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations; follow site procedures and notify appropriate personnel.
Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, entrances, common spaces, and the perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
Accurately document daily activities, access-control events, incidents, and observations in required reports, and communicate relevant information during shift handoffs.
