The Security Officer provides security coverage to protect patrons, team members, and company assets. Officers are assigned to posts throughout the hotel, casino resort, and exterior areas to deter and prevent illegal or terroristic activity, hazards, and company or regulatory violations. The role assists guests with illnesses, injuries, and information; issues temporary access badges; monitors employee activity; and protects company assets and funds throughout the premises. Officers respond to disturbances with the goal of de-escalating situations verbally, while being prepared for physical confrontation when necessary. Duties also include observing exterior areas and reporting suspicious activity to security dispatch by radio or telephone, documenting incidents, escorting team members to and from vehicles when requested, and potentially performing assignments by mountain bike or motorized vehicle in varied environments and conditions. The position complies with New Jersey regulatory requirements. The work involves casino-related environmental conditions, including secondhand smoke, excessive noise, and the stress of serving customers in a fast-paced, high-pressure setting. Officers must be able to work overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays, and may be required to testify in court on or off duty. The role requires standing for an entire shift, moving throughout casino and hotel areas, and lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 50 pounds.
