As a Part-Time Security Officer in Durham, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in various industries, including Tech/Media/Telecom. This role offers flexibility to build your schedule and explore new roles using the Claim a Shift platform. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas at a dynamic technology location, maintain visibility to deter security incidents, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. This unarmed patrol role supports daily operations with professionalism, reflecting an agile, reliable, and innovative approach, a people-first culture, teamwork, and integrity.

Requirements

• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology-focused location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate relevant details to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, access points, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unwanted activity and report unusual conditions.
• Monitor entry and exit activity, verify credentials as required by site policy, and document security-related incidents, observations, and/or daily activity in required reports.
• Support access control, visitor processing, and other security-related duties connected to a fast-paced tech, media, and telecom environment while following post orders and client-directed expectations.
