About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Armed Security Officer for patrol and observation at public library locations in Las Vegas, Nevada. The officer will serve and safeguard clients in a public-service setting by maintaining a visible presence, conducting armed patrols, responding to security concerns, and providing customer service. The position is scheduled Friday through Sunday, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., at a rate of $21.00 per hour. The role includes access to a shift-claiming platform and paid training.

Requirements

At least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
An armed guard card or license.
At least 21 years of age for armed roles.
A high school diploma or equivalent.
Participation in industry-specific security training programs.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements may apply under state or local laws and regulations and may be required before employment.
A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to patrons, visitors, and staff while carrying out armed security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at public library locations.
Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations calmly and professionally, following procedures and escalation protocols.
Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout library facilities, parking areas, and surrounding property to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
Monitor access points and public areas, assist with access control, and report suspicious activity, hazards, and policy violations.
Prepare accurate incident reports and communicate with site leadership, law enforcement, and Allied Universal management as required.
