Security Officer Full Time Access Control Patrol

About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time unarmed patrol officer at a healthcare location in Birmingham, Alabama. The officer will safeguard patients, visitors, staff, and the facility by patrolling assigned areas, maintaining a visible presence, supporting access control, and providing customer service. The role involves communicating clearly, responding professionally to changing situations, and working with site contacts and Allied Universal leadership. The scheduled shifts are Monday through Friday, 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM. The pay rate is $13.25 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.

Nice To Haves

A guard card or license is preferred.
Experience with access control and badge processes is preferred.
Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors by following security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, medical emergencies, and critical situations, following site protocols and contacting appropriate personnel.
Conduct regular and random patrols of healthcare facility buildings, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify concerns.
Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with directions and wayfinding, and report unusual activity or policy violations.
Complete required reports, maintain accurate activity logs, and communicate observations and incidents to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
