About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer for patrol and tour verification at an assigned technology and media site in Ashburn, Virginia. The position provides a fixed weekly anchor shift requiring a six-month commitment, with the option to claim additional shifts through the company scheduling platform. Hours may vary according to claimed shifts, with the opportunity to work up to 40 hours per week and scale back when needed. The listed pay rate is $23.11 per hour. The stated schedule is Monday, 6:00 AM–2:00 PM.

The officer provides customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors; follows security procedures and site-specific policies; conducts unarmed patrols; monitors access and visitor activity; documents observations and incidents; and responds to security concerns and emergencies as appropriate.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

• CPR certification is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card and/or license is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors at a technology and media location.
• Carry out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and participate in emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations, escalating matters according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of offices, common areas, parking areas, and the property perimeter.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, and verify credentials as required by site procedures.
• Document observations, incidents, and patrol activity.
• Communicate with site personnel and Allied Universal leadership about security conditions, incidents, and operational needs.
