About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer to provide access screening at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location in Anchorage, Alaska. The role helps maintain a secure environment by screening personnel, visitors, packages, deliveries, and shipments according to site procedures and applicable requirements. The officer monitors access points, verifies credentials and shipping documentation, remains attentive, communicates professionally, documents observations, responds to security concerns, and provides customer service. The scheduled hours are Wednesday through Sunday, 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The pay rate is $20.00 per hour. Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and employees by following site-specific screening procedures, policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
Screen individuals, packages, and deliveries entering designated areas in accordance with site procedures and applicable requirements.
Monitor access points and verify credentials, shipping documentation, and authorization before permitting entry to restricted areas.
Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations; document observations and notify appropriate personnel.
Conduct regular and random patrols of loading areas, distribution operations, parking areas, and the facility perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
