Security Officer Part Time Campus Patrol

About The Position

As a part-time Patrol Unarmed Security Officer at a higher education location in Austin, Texas, you will help safeguard the campus by monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, maintaining a visible presence, and supporting a welcoming environment. You will interact professionally with students, staff, and visitors while providing customer service and communication. The scheduled shifts are Monday from 2:30 PM to 10:30 PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM. Pay is $19.25 per hour.

Requirements

At least one year of security-related experience.
Comfort using a computer or tablet.
Customer service experience.
At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and contractors while following site-specific procedures and security policies.
Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of campus buildings, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter areas; identify and report unusual activity, hazards, or maintenance concerns.
Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, following site procedures and contacting campus personnel or emergency responders as needed.
Monitor access points and visitor activity, provide directions and general information, and report unauthorized access or policy concerns.
Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain activity logs for incidents, patrol observations, and security-related matters.
