Security Officer Bike Patrol Full Time
About The Position
As a full-time unarmed Bike Patrol Security Officer in the University City neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, you will help safeguard clients in commercial buildings and across university campuses. You will conduct routine bicycle patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, provide customer service to visitors and staff, communicate clearly, respond to security-related concerns, and contribute to a welcoming environment. The role supports Allied Universal’s people-first culture and values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity. The scheduled shifts are Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 5:00 PM to 1:00 AM; Thursday from 6:00 PM to 2:00 AM; and Sunday from 5:00 PM to 1:00 AM. The pay rate is $17.25 per hour.
Requirements
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
- Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
Nice To Haves
- CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Ability to ride a bike for long periods is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and community members by carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations calmly and professionally, following established problem-solving, reporting, and escalation procedures.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned locations, buildings, parking areas, and perimeter spaces to help deter unauthorized activity.
- Monitor access points and observe activity throughout assigned areas.
- Report unusual conditions, maintenance concerns, and security-related issues to appropriate personnel.
- Complete accurate daily activity reports, incident documentation, and shift communications in accordance with company and site-specific requirements.
