Security Officer - Parking Garage Full Time
About The Position
As a full-time unarmed Security Officer at a residential location in New York, NY, you will help safeguard residents, visitors, and staff by monitoring and patrolling assigned areas and maintaining a visible presence. You will provide customer service, communicate clearly, and respond professionally to security-related concerns and incidents. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and pays $26.05 per hour. Applicants must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles and have a high school diploma or equivalent. Employment is conditional on a background investigation and, where permitted by law, a drug screen. Licensing may be required under applicable state or local laws and regulations. A valid driver’s license is required only for driving positions.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
- Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
- Have a valid driver’s license if applying for a driving position.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and staff by following security procedures and site-specific policies and carrying out emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Respond to residential incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations calmly and professionally, using problem-solving skills.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of residential common areas, entrances, parking areas, and the surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
- Monitor access points and observe visitor and delivery activity in accordance with site-specific procedures.
- Document incidents, observations, and daily activities in accurate reports and communicate them promptly to appropriate personnel.
