About The Position

As a part-time Security Officer at a government location in Gaithersburg, Maryland, you will help safeguard the site and provide a professional, secure environment. You will welcome and assist visitors, manage access control and badge procedures, monitor alarms and cameras, and address security-related concerns while representing Allied Universal’s people-first culture with integrity and teamwork. The role is a stationary front desk post with a schedule of Saturday and Sunday, 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Allied Universal offers a Claim a Shift platform to view and claim additional shifts.

Requirements

At least 2 years of security-related experience.
Must be 21 years of age or older.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements may apply before employment, subject to state and local laws and regulations.

Nice To Haves

Comfort using a computer or tablet.
Alarm panel experience.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public at a government facility by following site-specific security procedures and policies.
Staff the front desk, greet and direct visitors, verify access credentials, and maintain visitor sign-in records according to site requirements.
Monitor access points, visitor activity, and security-related systems from a stationary post; report unusual activity or policy concerns to appropriate personnel.
Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations by following established emergency response procedures.
Communicate professionally with facility personnel, public officials, first responders, and Allied Universal supervision as needed.
