Security Officer Part Time Access Control

About The Position

As a part-time Security Officer with Allied Universal at a logistics and distribution location in Linden, New Jersey, you will help maintain a secure environment by screening personnel and visitors, monitoring access points, and reporting security-related concerns. You will provide professional customer service and clear communication while supporting efficient facility operations. The role offers access to a platform for viewing and claiming additional shifts. The position is scheduled for Saturday, 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m., and Sunday, 6:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. The pay rate is $18.70 per hour. Employment is subject to a background investigation and, where permitted by law, a drug screen. State or local licensing requirements may apply.

Requirements

At least one year of security-related experience.
At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
State or local licensing may be required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and/or employees while following site-specific procedures and conducting security-related screening activities.
Screen individuals, deliveries, and/or vehicles entering designated areas according to site policies and reporting requirements.
Monitor access points, verify credentials and shipping-related documentation as assigned, and report irregularities to appropriate personnel.
Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, following established emergency response procedures.
Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, including business premises and perimeter, and document observations as required.
