About The Position

MSC Security, LLC is hiring full-time, unarmed Security Officers for foot-patrol work at a shopping center. The position pays $18.00 per hour and offers two schedule options: Thursday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. (36 hours), or Sunday through Tuesday, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., plus Wednesday, 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (34 hours). The role involves patrolling the assigned site, documenting activities and incidents, enforcing customer rules, and interacting professionally with the public. Relocation and travel are not required. The position reports to the Captains, and there are two openings.

Requirements

Active Maryland State Police guard card (Maryland Guard Card).
At least 18 years of age.
Legal work status in the United States.
High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted).
Ability to pass a drug screening.
Reliable, functional transportation; public transportation is not acceptable.
A cell phone for contact by Operations Supervisors.
Ability to pass a criminal background check, with no felony arrests or convictions of any crimes.
Ability to perform post-order duties, potentially including standing or walking for extended periods or lifting.
Familiarity with mobile technology such as tablets and smartphones.
Valid full driver’s license.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Active listening skills.

Responsibilities

Maintain a daily log of all activities during the assigned shift at the assigned post.
Document incidents occurring during the shift in detailed incident reports.
Conduct walking or vehicular patrols throughout the shift.
Enforce customer rules professionally and courteously.
Arrive on time and in proper uniform at the assigned post.
Interact and communicate with the public.
Assess and evaluate emergencies, identify critical issues, and respond appropriately.
