About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Security Officer to serve and safeguard clients in a healthcare setting in Asheville, North Carolina. The role involves monitoring and patrolling hospital areas, maintaining a visible security presence, and supporting patients, visitors, and staff through customer service. Duties may also involve responding to sensitive situations concerning restricted areas, assisting with patient restraints, and using computer or tablet systems. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM and pays $21.68 per hour.

Requirements

• Meet hospital vaccination requirements.
• Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Be able to work in a hospital morgue.
• Be able to restrain individuals in a hospital setting.
• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles or at least 21 years old for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet licensing requirements that may apply under state or local laws and regulations before employment.
• Have a valid driver’s license if applying for a driving position.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by following security procedures and site-specific policies, and performing emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, assist with de-escalation, and coordinate with appropriate healthcare personnel or emergency responders.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of healthcare facility grounds, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity according to site-specific procedures, providing directions and assistance to support an orderly environment.
• Document incidents, observations, and activities accurately and promptly according to site requirements.
