About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time, unarmed Security Officer for an assigned private gated community in Mission Viejo, California. The position has a fixed weekly anchor shift, with a six-month commitment, and offers the option to claim additional shifts through the company’s scheduling platform. Additional shifts may provide opportunities to work up to 40 hours per week, with the option to scale back. The listed schedule is Thursday, 5:00 PM–10:00 PM. Pay is $19.50 per hour.

The officer provides customer service to residents, visitors, and contractors; follows security procedures and site-specific policies; responds to incidents and concerns; patrols residential areas; monitors access points; and reports hazards and suspicious activity. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and undergo a background investigation and drug screen, subject to applicable laws. Licensing may be required under state or local regulations.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old for this unarmed role.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and contractors while following security procedures and site-specific policies and, when appropriate, responding to emergencies.
• Respond calmly and constructively to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations; document observations and actions according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random vehicle and/or foot patrols of residential common areas, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe visitor, vendor, and contractor activity in accordance with community policies.
• Report maintenance concerns, hazards, suspicious activity, and other security-related issues to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
