Security Officer Gated Residential Community
About The Position
As a full-time Security Officer for a gated residential community in Newport Beach, California, you will help safeguard the community while providing customer service to residents, visitors, and vendors. You will monitor entry points, verify access, maintain accurate records, and respond to security-related concerns. The role requires a visible presence to help deter incidents, along with clear communication and a calm, problem-solving approach. The schedule is a mix of shifts: Monday and Tuesday from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM, and Saturday and Sunday from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The pay rate is $21.60 per hour. This site has limited on-site facilities, including portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
Requirements
- At least one year of security-related experience.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 or older for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
- Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet applicable state and local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
- A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and vendors while following security procedures and site-specific policies and taking part in emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Monitor access points and verify authorization for people, vehicles, deliveries, and service personnel entering the property.
- Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, document observations, and report concerns according to site procedures.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of the property, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
