About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer to perform screening operations at a shelter location in Rock Hill, South Carolina. The role supports a welcoming and secure environment by screening visitors and their belongings, monitoring entry points, and reporting security-related concerns. The officer provides customer service and clear communication to residents, staff, visitors, and guests while following site-specific procedures and supporting emergency response activities. The posted schedule is Monday and Tuesday from 1:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. The pay rate is $19.00 per hour. Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, consistent with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience is preferred.
X-ray screening experience is preferred.
Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers while following site-specific screening procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
Screen people entering the shelter, verify authorization as required, and maintain accurate visitor and incident documentation.
Monitor access points and help deter unauthorized entry, prohibited items, and disruptive activity according to established procedures.
Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, respectful, trauma-informed, and solution-focused manner; notify appropriate personnel or emergency responders when needed.
Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas and the facility perimeter, document observations, and report maintenance concerns or unusual conditions.
